Claire Arnott was the speaker at the Club's first meeting of 2018. Claire is the daughter of Rotarian Jim Anderson and she is Head of Marketing for Tennants Lager Scotland.
She showed a short video outlining the company's many products and explained that the company had recently chosen to sponsor tennis rather than football.
The company history goes back to 1556 when the original brewery was established in Duke Street in Glasgow. Wellpark brewery is now a visitor centre and all are welcome to come and look around. Tennants Lager goes back to 1885 when Hugh Tennant brought the original recipe back from Bavaria.
450 million litres of lager are produced each year and the company supply 7500 pubs in Scotland alone. Tennants Lager is Scotland's favourite drink and accounts for 2 in every 3 pints sold.
She showed some videos of humerous adverts from the 1980s and Rotarians were delighted to be presented with goody bags with samples of beer and a glass to drink them from.
