1989 Henry in his own impeccable style attended the world Rotary convention in Nice, France & also attended the RIBI convention at Bournemouth.

Special Meeting to discuss Woman in Rotary as per Constitution. Voting was 30 to 8 for not allowing ladies into the Club.

Race night and Old time disco brings in £750.

Annual Widows & Orphans outing to Cumnock catered for 38 adults, 54 children plus 14 Rotarian helpers plus 7 others.

Rotary Youth Exchange get together at Carberry Towers. President Dr. Henry Doig & a party of East Kilbride Rotarians made the twinning link trip to Ballerup. George Gunn walked across Scotland from Skurdiness to Ardenmuchan Point to raise Charity money.

Past President Alex McWilliam was a founder member who gave 23 years & 10 months of service to Rotary. Rotarian Kemp Burt served the Club as Secretary and gave 23 years & 5 months of service to Rotary service both have passed on in this Rotary year.
